“Island Run” consists of nine 12” x 12” canvases inspired by time spent on the Caribbean Island of Anguilla. Night, mysterious and beautiful, dark colors from the air of night, contrasting to the light of day. Abstraction cannot literally tell stories. In this piece I have used color and composition to suggest relationships, and therefore be narrative. The stripe shows a state of recline, a book lying on its side wanting to be opened. |
