Representational with a story to tell

Lyla’s paintings are often of a particular scene that suddenly catches her eye, be it landscape, common place items in her home, or moments that tell a story.  Sometimes the paintings are based on a memory or emotion from childhood.

Lyla grew up in Alberta, Canada, with a close relationship with six siblings, farm animals and nature.  Gardening and the Northwest outdoors has kept her eye close to the wonders of nature.

She has been juried into and sold artwork at local shows and galleries as well as sold privately locally and internationally.  One of her paintings is featured on the cover of the Daniel Smith Winter catalogue 2008.  She is represented by Kaewyn Gallery in Bothell and Candler Gallery in Alberta, Canada.
