"Like many artists, I have enjoyed being creative since I was a small
child. All during my school years, I studied art. Taking classes in Sumi
painting, color and design, watercolor, pen and ink drawing, prospective
drawing and pottery. Later in life I took classes in stained glass and
learned to use a potter's wheel. Then it was on to tole painting and
Norwegian rosemaling. Still later I went back to collage and studied
interior and fashion design. I was an interior designer for many years
and then opened an antique store where I sold some of my paintings and hand made beaded jewelry. After I retired a friend asked me if I would
like to learn to make polymer clay beads. That started me down the road
to being a jewelry designer. I find it more rewarding to design jewelry
with beads that I have made by my own hand. I mix these with
semi-precious stones, pearls and Swarovski crystals to give my pieces
different textures for a more distinctive look. I love what I do and am
always looking for new ways to make my jewelry more interesting and
unusual."
