Nature inspires Elaine Moore’s creativity in clay, and her work reflects that. She creates both functional ceramics and sculptural pieces. Elaine works exclusively as a hand-builder, preferring the slow, exploratory process of developing an idea as she’s forming and shaping the clay. She uses slab, coil, pinch, and molding techniques, and fires most of her work in the low-fire temperature range, which allows the use of glazes that fire to bright, vivid colors.
