Darlene OldsMedium: Ceramics
I have been a resident artist at the Kirkland Arts Center for 9 years, and have participated in the Artists’ Studio Tour since its inception. I work out of my studio at the Kirkland Arts Center. My association both with the center and the other resident artists is of great value to me. I found my passion for clay as a teenager, but did not have time to do anything about it until my early 60s. Since then I have been totally commited. I was captivated by the wheel and high-fire clays. I prefer functional ware, knowing that they will be used in people’s daily lives. I have been fortunate to study with some very fine teachers and artists. They each have added to my repertoire, which hopefully is still expanding. I look forward to many more years in clay.
