Satomi Pellerin was born
and raised in Japan, where she studied music and majored
in composition. Satomi moved to Washington State in
1988, where she taught piano while also exploring
Japanese traditional ink painting, photography and
garden design. She has lived in Kirkland since 1999, and
has been a ceramic artist since 2002.
Satomi’s work is strongly
influenced by her love of nature. Her use of natural
materials and high-fire glazes on hand-built bowls and
plates creates a unique, organic appearance.
