Since early childhood Celeste has been involved with creating crafts of all sorts. Her current interests include Fusing and torching glass, jewelry making, and writing books. Celeste has over 20 years as a Neonatal Nurse Specialist working with premature infants under very stressful conditions. She searched for a hobby that would help her relax and open up her creative, fun spirit. Glass fusing seems to have filled that void as she gets completely absorbed in the creative process. Glass has held her interest for the last 10 years. Ask Celeste what drew her to fusing glass and she will tell you; “I am a water girl, glass in its basic element is water; I love light, glass transmits and reflects light; and I love science. Glass is a combination of science and craft, there is always something new to try or experiment with. Glass continues to challenge me and one can continue to grow in this medium for a long time, including the possibility of discovering a new technique or process.”

Celeste lives with her husband and two children in Kirkland, Washington. She has the benefit of having a large studio in her home. Currently she teaches classes in her favorite medium; Glass fusing and has a lot of fun coming up with new designs for her students. Most of her work is surrounded by whimsy and color, lots of color. She adds dichroic glass to much of her work and has discovered many unique color combinations which reflect and transmit a variety of colors.

Her current work is displayed at Collage, an artist cooperative in Kirkland; Musings an artist cooperative in Mill Creek; and Blooming Hearts another cooperative in Snohomish. All stores are located in Washington State. Among her accomplishments in glass, her creative ideas range from jewelry making, including fused glass watches, dishes, unique candle votives, home accents, sconces, and tiles.
